About the Author(s)

John C. Fredriksen holds a Ph.D. in American history from Providence College and works as a freelance writer and researcher. He is the author of Facts On File's Chronology of American History, as well as Revolutionary War Almanac and Civil War Almanac, both in the Almanacs of American Wars series.
