About the Author(s)

Bruce Wyman, Ph.D., is associate professor of environmental science at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He has served as a consultant and technical advisor to industrial groups and environmental management agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, including the USEPA, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.

L. Harold Stevenson, Ph.D., is professor of environmental science at McNeese State University. He has also served on the faculties of the biology and microbiology departments at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and was an associate of the Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine Biology and Coastal Research.
