About the Author(s)

Garrett Ward Sheldon received his Ph.D in political science at Rutgers University and currently holds an endowed chair at the University of Virginia. He is the author of several books, including The Political Philosophy of Thomas Jefferson and The History of Political Theory: Ancient Greece to Modern America.
