Summary

For many people, just the sound of the word "bat" sends a chill up their spines. These nocturnal creatures have long had a bad reputation. Some people believe that bats attack humans in the night, sucking out their blood. Others think of bats as flying mice—disease-carrying pests that should be destroyed. In The Bat, author James V. Bradley explains the many myths surrounding bats and reveals how helpful and interesting these misunderstood creatures really are.
