Alecia T. Devantier is a former educator who has worked on a national curriculum-development program and organized and conducted numerous workshops on teaching math and the use of technology in the classroom. She is the coauthor, with Carol A. Turkington, of 101 Things Every Kid Should Do Growing Up and Cool Parent 101. She frequently writes about educational topics and family issues, and was a contributing writer for HomeWords magazine.

Carol A. Turkington is a writer with a degree in journalism and 25 years of professional experience. She is the author of the Ferguson Career Resource Guide to Internships and Summer Jobs and the author or coauthor of numerous encyclopedias for Facts On File, including The Encyclopedia of Learning Disabilities, Second Edition; The Encyclopedia of Children's Health and Wellness; and The Encyclopedia of Deafness and Hearing Disorders, Second Edition, Updated.
